Wayne Èskofferi (Wayne Escoffery) is an American saxophonist of English origin, one of the most prominent musicians of the New York jazz scene. Jazz critics say Wayne Jeskofferi a typical representative of the generation of "young lions" ("YoungLions")-born in 60-80-ies of improvisers, gravitating to straight-ahead acoustic jazz.
Over the years he has performed and recorded with artists such as Carl Allen (CarlAllen), Eric Reed (EricReed), Ben Riley (BenRiley), Ron Carter (RonCarter), Jimmy Cobb (JimmyCobb), Eddie Henderson (EddieHenderson) and Tom Harrel (TomHarrell), played in the composition MingusBigBand/Orchestra/Dynasty.
It is with The Mingus Big Band in 2010 year Jeskofferi becomes the owner of a Grammy Award. In 2014, he wins the nomination RisingStar as the best tenor saxophonist on the results of the annual survey of DownBeat magazine critics (United States).
